On Dec. 29, Otter Tail Corp. announced it had sold its North Dakota-based trucking business, E.W. Wylie,
to Walden Smokey Point Inc., a holding company based out of Dallas.

E.W. Wylie will still operate independently, and its headquarters will remain in West Fargo, N.D. The business, which was founded in 1938, has terminals in Dallas and Tyler, Texas. It specializes in transporting fabricated steel, farm machinery, construction equipment and oil and gas components. Wylie's service lanes run within the 48 contiguous states as well as in Alaska and Canada.

Walden's operating company, Smokey Point Distributing, was founded in 1979 and specializes in moving difficult-to-transport cargo and aerospace parts as well as less-than-truckload, truckload and general commodities. In addition to its primary terminal in Arlington, Wash., it has terminals in Pomona, Calif., Wichita, Kan. and Charleston, S.C.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
