Two Heavy Duty Trucking editors are finalists in a prestigious business-to-business journalism competition for their how-to stories.

Editor in Chief Deborah Lockridge and Equipment Editor Jim Park are both finalists in the 58th Annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards from the American Business Media association. This contest draws a wide variety of B2B magazines, for businesses and professions such as healthcare, law, engineering, construction, food service, agriculture, firefighting, and of course trucking. Of 725 entries, which represent a 10% increase over last year's figure, 120 made it to the final round.

The two finalist honors are in the "Best Instructional Content" category. They are:

* 9 Ways to Keep Cargo Safe & Secure," July 2011 HDT, by Deborah Lockridge

* "Longer Trade Cycles," April 2011 HDT, by Jim Park

In addition to competing against each other for the Neal award, Lockridge and Park are up against "How We Got Burned: Lessons Learned from a Wind-Driven Fire," in Fire Engineering magazine.
