American West, a transportation company based in Los Osos, Calif. serving the continental U.S. and Canada and specializing in furniture transport, has entered into a service agreement with Worldwide Logistics.
Under the terms of the agreement, American West will service customers out of American West's Dallas facility for Worldwide. Worldwide will close their Dallas facility by the end of October, and American West will service all Pool Distribution customers and 3PL customers.
American West will also service customers for LTL shipments originating from the West Coast for distribution to Texas, Okalahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Worldwide will continue to provide LTL service to these states from North Carolina, Virginia and other select East Coast locations.
To help ensure a smooth transition, America West has agreed to a 60-day period in which it will honor Worldwide-specific customer rate agreements.
