The New Jersey Clean Cities Coalition and the Mid-Atlantic Truck Centre will hold an Alternate Fuel Truck Conference May 19 at the Mid-Atlantic Truck Centre in Linden, N.J.


This event will be the first of its kind in this region and will feature vehicle displays, a ride-and-drive, and nationally recognized speakers. Talk will focus on compressed natural gas, diesel/electric hybrids, biodiesel fuel and diesel retrofit technologies that are available to assure compliance with state and federal emissions and engine regulations. Mark Smith, vehicle technology deployment manager at the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Cities Program, will provide opening remarks.

Among the vehicles to be displayed will be a CNG International WorkStar with ESI engine and an International Eaton diesel/electric hybrid.

The event will start with coffee and networking at 8:30 a.m. The conference will kick off at 9:00 and run through 11:30, followed by lunch and the vehicle presentation and ride-and-drive. The event will be over by 2 p.m.
