Con-way Freight, the less-than-truckload (LTL) subsidiary of Con-way Inc. has named John P. Burton Vice President - Yield Management.
Based at Con-way Freight's corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor, Mich., Burton assumes responsibility for pricing, yield and contract management, and market analysis. He also will oversee systems supporting pricing and yield management.

A 25-year industry veteran, Burton joins Con-way Freight from ACT Research, where he was vice president of the transportation sector for this demand forecasting and research firm. His previous experience includes management positions in pricing, marketing, sales administration and yield management with SCS Transportation and Preston Trucking Company, as well as Yellow Freight, a subsidiary of YRC Corp.

Burton holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics and business administration from Park University, Parkville, Missouri. He earned his MBA in marketing and operations management from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
