The Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association's Electrical Division will be hosting an Electrical Clinic in Seattle, Washington at The Holiday Inn Seattle-Seatac International Airport Hotel on Friday, March 4th through Saturday March 5th, 2011.
Topics on Saturday's agenda are:
* Shop Modernization: Alan Melton of Northwest Regulator will discuss the necessary steps for the small rebuilder to modernize their shop, making it more efficient, and more profitable.
* Growth Through Diversification: Jim Thomas of Smith Auto Electric will talk about how diversification has enabled his business to GROW with more sales, more profit and more customers.
* Battery Evolution and Trends: Stephen Greenfield, Territorial Sales Rep for East Penn Mfg/Deka Batteries will discuss the current and future manufacturing of batteries for the industry, as seen by East Penn. East Penn is in their 65th year of manufacturing. Stephen started in batteries and automotive in 1968.
* Rebuilder Tips and Tricks: Dick Vensel of Vensel Enterprises will talk about affordable rebuilding tools that can save rebuilders time and money and improve quality by expediting work and keeping it in-house.
* Charging Systems and Voltage Regulator Compatibility Issues & Rebuilding Techniques for Late Model Starter and Alternators: Mohammad Samii, owner of Sammy's Auto Electric, will present recent charging system vs. voltage regulator compatibility issues as well as a pictorial presentation of late model starter and alternator rebuilding.
* APRA Electrical Division Website: Mark Kothe, APRA's Chief Technical Officer, will talk about the website APRA has designed exclusively for the electrical division. Currently there are documents, books, articles and manuals loaded on the site. This presentation will be a chance for the audience to help shape this new website by providing ideas and content for the site.
* Demystifying the Four Different Types of Alternator Pulley Technologies: Al Steadman, Development Specialist for Litens Automotive Group will present an unbiased seminar showing the design principle, applications and necessary information related to four different alternator pulleys that every electrical rebuilder should be aware of (Litens is OE on all four).
