Miller Transfer has hired a mergers and acquisitions consultant to help it acquire a heavy haul carrier to expand its business in the Southeast.

In operation since 1968, Ohio based Miller Transfer specializes in hauling heavy machinery along with legal and over dimensional loads via 18 terminals throughout the United States. The Company's business model is comprised of independent contractors in addition to a small corporate fleet which is maintained in Edinburg.

Following the trail of resurgence in manufacturing in the Southeast part of the country, Miller looks to acquire an additional heavy haul carrier whose business model mirrors their own. Their acquisition targets are in South Carolina, North Carolina or Georgia with target acquisition revenue between $10MM and $15MM, utilizing an independent contractor model.

The carrier has hired Andy Ahern, CEO of Ahern and Associates, to help it do this.

Jim Unger, President of Miller Transfer explains why he selected Andy Ahern and his firm. "Andy Ahern's been a known commodity within the industry for many years, he's got a good reputation and all references checked out which is why we decided that Andy's the one we wanted to do business with."

Ahern commented on working with Miller Transfer. "Companies who support manufacturing like Miller Transfer have been the backbone of this country for over 40 years and I'm pleased to be spearheading their expansion efforts."
