Paccar is reportedly bringing back workers to its Renton, Wash., Kenworth plant as it increases its production of on-highway trucks.

A report in the Tacoma, Wash., News Tribune noted that Kenworth is recalling some workers laid off when the company stopped on-highway truck assembly there two years ago.

Paccar spokesperson Robin Easton told Truckinginfo.com, "I can confirm that Kenworth is very gradually increasing the build rate of on-highway vehicles. Unfortunately, we do not disclose exact build rates or staff numbers."

While the News Tribune account says Kenworth's Chillicothe, Ohio, plant is at capacity, Easton told us that report was in error, that the Ohio plant is not at full capacity.
