The Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Group is now taking nominations for its Heavy Duty Remanufacturer of the Year.

A highlight of the Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Group Summit 2011 in Las Vegas next January will be a luncheon featuring the winner. This award will be presented to a remanufacturer who has demonstrated leadership and vision in the industry. A committee will make the selection from among those nominated.

According to Bill Gager, president of HDRG parent group APRA, "Five years ago the Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Group was formed to further the interests of the heavy duty remanufacturer members of APRA. Both APRA and HDRG have benefited from numerous hard-working individuals who have helped in the creation of this group and we are more than pleased to be able to recognize one of them at our luncheon in 2011."

The award is given to a company or individual who has demonstrated innovative ways to create and grow a successful business model and in the process, supported industry efforts to advance the remanufacturing craft. In the past, the award has been given to solely independent firms in the reman business.

This year's winner was ArvinMeritor. (See "ArvinMeritor Takes Home Award For Heavy Duty Remanufacturing," 1/20/2010.) The 2009 award went to John Weller, president of Weller Truck Parts in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Nominations may be directed to the attention of Bill Gager; call 703-968-2772 ext. 103, or email gager@buyreman.com.
