The Trucking Industry Mobility and Technology Coalition will hold a session on Truck IntelliDrive and Smart Roadside at the Technology and Maintenance Council's 2010 Fall Meeting in Raleigh, N.C., on Sept. 22.

Through this session, motor carriers can provide the U.S. DOT with direct feedback on onboard technology issues. Also included in this session will be a discussion of the National Academy of Sciences' large truck fuel efficiency study as well as an update on the joint EPA/NHTSA rulemaking efforts.

The IntelliDrive Program is a major initiative of the Research and Innovative Technology Administration's Intelligent Transportation Systems Program, in collaboration with NHTSA, FMCSA and FHWA. The large truck component of this program focuses on advancing connectivity among commercial vehicles and roadway infrastructure to improve transportation safety and mobility.
