Patriot Transportation Holding managed to turn a profit in the third quarter of fiscal 2010, with net income of $2.6 million, or 83 cents a share, compared to a net loss of $0.4 million, or 13 cents a share, in the same quarter last year.


Third quarter revenues were $28.4 million, a 1 percent gain over the same period last year.

Transportation segment revenues were about $23 million in the third quarter of 2010, an increase of $460,000 over the same quarter last year. Fuel surcharge revenue increased $1.7 million.

The Jacksonville, Fla.-based company said it has recovered all the revenue miles lost from the non-renewed contracts announced in January with new customers, although at lower rates per mile.
