Paccar Inc. has added 90 employees at its Columbus, Miss., plant to support its goal of getting production under way in December
, according to reports by the Associated Press.

The plant will manufacture 12.9-liter engines for Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF, the AP said.

Paccar broke ground on the new $400 million engine facility and technology center near Columbus in 2007. Construction on the 400,000-square-foot facility was expected to be completed late in 2009, but the recession pushed back its opening, AP reported.
