The Environmental Protection Agency said it will hold a public workshop to discuss the operation of heavy-duty engines with selective catalytic reduction technology on July 20 in El Monte, Calif.

During the workshop, which will be held in conjunction with the California Air Resources Board, EPA will review its policies regarding the operation of SCR-equipped heavy-duty diesel engines without diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), with improper DEF, or when tampering (or some other defect in the SCR system) is detected.

According to a Federal Register notice, parties may submit written comments before or after the workshop, and comments are due by Aug. 20. For more information, click here.
