OD-Global, a division of Old Dominion Freight Line, is opening regional command centers in Atlanta, Dallas, New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico, in an effort to better serve global customers.

The new centers, which should be fully functional by mid-June, will handle operations for OD-Global's Northern, Southern and Gulf Coast regions as well as for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. OD-Global has its central command center in Thomasville, N.C.

"[These centers will] help us to streamline the flow of information as shipments move through the supply chain and better align resources and personnel with our customers," said Greg Plemmons, vice president of OD-Global. "We expect these four centers to be the first of several new OD-Global offices to open this year as part of our promise to offer global customers the best service possible."

OD-Global offers less-than-container load and full-container load services tailored to meet export and import, foreign to foreign or air freight needs.

On average, OD-Global moves shipments between 40 and 50 countries per month. The company's service extends to Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Europe, the Far East, Central America, South America and Oceania.
