The California Air Resources Board has announced upcoming courses on diesel particulate filters and aftertreatment devices.


The course will cover diesel particulate matter and their health effects; diesel engine particulate matter and NOx production and control strategies; DPF theory, operation, construction, and application; as well as regulations requiring particulate filters. Other topics include diesel oxidation catalysts; continually regenerating traps; NOx catalysts; ammonia slip; selective catalytic reduction; NOx adsorber catalysts in addition to passive, active, online and offline regenerating strategies.

The course will also include an optional field trip the following day to see real application of DPFs at a representative facility.
