Daimler Trucks North America said it has reached 10,000 new orders for vehicles equipped with selective catalytic reduction emissions technology
. Daimler chose SCR as the technology to meet 2010 emissions standards.

According to the company, SCR-equipped trucks reduce emissions to near-zero levels of NOx and particulate matter as measured at the tailpipe while improving fuel economy up to 5 percent compared to EPA 2007 engines. Every new Freightliner Cascadia, Coronado and line of M2 business-class medium-duty vehicles are now available with Detroit Diesel BlueTec or Cummins SCR emissions equipment.
