Calspan Corporation, a research, development, testing and evaluation engineering firm, and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration are seeking suppliers of wireless truck-based cargo prevention technology to participate in an evaluation program.

The program, called "Evaluation and Testing of Truck-Based Cargo Theft Prevention Technologies," is aimed at making data and information available to motor carriers to allow for an informed decision regarding the implementation of cargo theft prevention devices.

The goal is to establish minimum performance requirements and determine how well each of the given systems fulfills those requirements. The final product will be a report summarizing the information collected and a product guide that will be published on the FMCSA web site. Calspan was awarded the program through the FMCSA.
