In a notice dated Dec. 17, 2009, the Washington State Department of Licensing announced a change in policy, granting motor carriers a full tax credit on fuel purchased at all tribal and non-tribal fueling stations in the state.
This applies to all fuel purchased as of Oct. 1, 2009.
According to the American Trucking Associations' state laws newsletter, Washington was providing a 25 percent credit for much of the year to be taken on International Fuel Tax Agreement reports if fuel was purchased at any of 20 Washington outlets run by tribes.
