Landstar System, a non-asset based supply chain solution provider, has honored 101 men and women as Landstar Million Mile Safe Drivers.
The business capacity owners, Landstar's term for its independent contractors who provide the company with transportation capacity, were recognized at a recent awards banquet in Jacksonville, Fla.

Collectively, these 101 drivers have driven a total of 109 million miles.

Landstar honored Charles Page of Hartford, Ky., as a 3 Million Mile Safe Driver. In addition, six independent contractors reached the 2 million mile mark: Wayne Bennett, Hanson, Ky.; Dennis Depoy, New Market, Va.; Arnold Minot, Cumberland, R.I.; Billy Osborne, Eastern, Ky.; Slawomir Szuba, Norwood Park, Ill.; and Andrew Whitehead, Marana, Ariz.

There were 94 drivers who reached the 1 million mile mark for the first time.

"These men and women are among the safest and most talented professional owner-operators in the industry," said Henry Gerkens, Landstar chairman, president and CEO. "Their outstanding safety records are a tribute to their dedication and commitment to over the road safety."
