The California Air Resources Board has set the dates to discuss proposed amendments to the Truck and Bus Rule.
The workshops will be held Jan. 20 in El Monte, Calif., Jan. 25 in Sacramento, and Jan. 26 in Fresno.
At the Dec. 9, 2009, board meeting, the board directed its staff to come back with a new provision that would give truck fleets more flexibility in cleaning up their diesel emissions under the state's Truck and Bus Rule that was adopted in December 2008, in light of the recession's effect on the industry. At the workshops, staff will present proposed amendments including three alternatives, and other proposed modifications to the regulation.
The Sacramento workshop will be webcast, and live video feed has been set up for alternative locations to telecast the Fresno workshop.
