The Norwich, Ontario-based supplier is in the process of setting up a new distribution network of over 50 dealers throughout North America, Pankiw said.

In February 2009, Roll-Tite Inc., the old company, was placed into receivership due to the downturn in the transportation sector. In April, Roll-Tite announced that private equity firm VG Partners backed its acquisition of the assets of the company. According to Today'sTrucking.com, the new company is now owned by Pankiw and other private investors.

The Roll-Tite flat bed trailer system is a fully retractable mechanical covering system comprised of a sliding aluminum frame and tarpaulin fabric cover. The system opens and closes from ground level, minimizing the possibility of lower back injury and the danger of falling. The system is up to 30 percent lighter than similar systems, adding only 1,500 pounds to a 48-foot flatbed trailer, Roll-Tite says. Other features include reinforced tarps, four wheel trolley and superior weather seal.

"Behind the scenes we are working to complete a number of user friendly, web enabled tools," Pankiw said. "Online warranty registration and a parts catalogue are just a few of the enhancements we are developing."
