Volvo Trucks is the sole sponsor of the program, a national highway safety outreach program run by the American Trucking Associations. The announcement was made at ATA's annual meeting in Las Vegas this week.

"We view America's Road Team as one of the most important proactive safety efforts in existence today," said Scott Kress, Volvo Trucks senior vice president of sales and marketing. "The members of the Road Team demonstrate by personal example the trucking industry's unwavering commitment to highway safety, a commitment which mirrors Volvo's own core value of safety."

America's Road Team is a small group of professional truck drivers, known as Road Team Captains, who share superior driving skills, remarkable safety records and a strong desire to spread the word about safety on the highway. The captains speak on a regular basis to government officials, lawmakers, students, industry gatherings and other drivers about trucking and highway safety issues.
