The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will not be affected by the recession-related cuts to surface transportation programs under the one-month Continuing Resolution
, according to a legislative update by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance.
On October 1, Congress passed a Continuing Resolution that funded most agencies of the federal government below 2009 levels through October 31. However, the FMCSA programs will be funded at regular 2009 levels through the month of October, CVSA says.
Congress will act on both the regular 2010 DOT Appropriations bill and the SAFETEA-LU extension by the end of the month.
