Mercedes-Benz USA is returning to the commercial vehicle business, as it takes on the sales, marketing and distribution of Sprinter vehicles
. As a result, the Dodge Sprinter will be discontinued, and the new vehicle will be sold under the new Daimler Vans USA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, located in Montvale, N.J.

The company expects delivery of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter to dealers and customers to start in January.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter was introduced in North America in 2001. It's offered in three vehicle lengths on two wheelbases with three GVWRs. The vehicle is available in cargo van, passenger van and chassis cab models, and in two different roof heights. Powered by a 3.0 V-6 turbo diesel engine, the vehicle comes standard with Adaptive ESP, its electronic stability program.
