The American Council Of Frame and Alignment has lowered the cost of ACOFAS membership for the 2009 year from $300 to $200, in response to the current economic situation.

The group says other associations are increasing their fees and losing members because of the slow business climate and inability to justify membership. However, ACOFAS does not want technicians to miss out on educational opportunities during this time.

"We, at ACOFAS, believe very strongly in the education of technicians and the importance of having our technicians properly trained," the association said in a newsletter. "It is more important to make a few cuts elsewhere and to encourage our members to continue training their technicians."
