Fifty-eight of YRC Worldwide's drivers will compete in the 2009 National Truck Driving Championships
in Pittsburgh Aug. 18-22.

All the competing drivers qualified at state-level truck driving championships. YRC's drivers will participate against nearly 400 others for national titles in eight different classes of vehicles and for the title of National Grand Champion. The American Trucking Associations sponsors the NTDC, which is designed to recognize industry leadership in safety and to promote professionalism among truck drivers.

The state and national contests test driving skills through a number of maneuvering tests, a pre-trip inspection and a written examination covering vehicle operation and federal safety standards. Drivers must have one-year accident-free records to compete.

"We are proud of all of our professional drivers who participated in the state truck driving competitions," said Mike Smid, president of YRC Inc. and chief operating officer of YRC Worldwide. "Their passion and motivation to compete is a display of their outstanding driving skills, professionalism and commitment to safety."
