The Walcott Truckers Jamboree will hold a cake cutting on Friday, July 10, to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Jamboree as well as the 45th Anniversary of Iowa 80 Truckstop, where the event is being held.

At 2 p.m., this 8-foot long, 300-pound cake will be served to an estimated 2,000 people. The dessert took two days to construct and is made out of cake, frosting, fondant and modeling chocolate.

The Walcott Truckers Jamboree began in 1979 featuring a few exhibits, live music, food
and a small display of antique trucks. The event has grown from few hundred drivers to about 30,000 attendees today.
