The 30th Anniversary Walcott Truckers Jamboree kicks off next week, July 9-10, at Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, Iowa.

Aaron Tippin will perform live Thursday night at 7 p.m., followed by a fireworks show and Super Truck light show. The jamboree will also feature 150 exhibits, a Super Truck Beauty Contest, Antique Truck Display, Iowa pork chop cookout, Trucker Olympics, carnival games and live bands.

Iowa 80 will be celebrating its 45th Anniversary along with the jamboree's 30th anniversary. There will be an anniversary cake cutting at 2 p.m. Friday.

The Walcott Truckers Jamboree began in 1979 to celebrate America's Truckers. The first Jamboree only attracted a few hundred drivers, whereas today it attracts 30,000 drivers.

"We are honored to have been serving the professional driver for 45 years," said Delia Moon Meier, senior vice president at Iowa 80 Group. "The Walcott Truckers Jamboree is our way of saying Thank You to drivers for the work they do and to let them know that we appreciate that they choose to stop at Iowa 80."
