UAP Inc., Montreal, announced an agreement with Uni-Select and its subsidiary Palmar to acquire 18 stores of its Palmar Truck Parts network.
The transaction is expected to be closed by Aug. 17.
These new stores will allow UAP to pursue its growth strategy in Canada's aftermarket auto parts and truck and heavy vehicle parts industry.
Adding these stores, will give UAP a stronger presence in several regional markets, notably in Quebec, Ontario and the Atlantic provinces.
The Palmar stores will gradually be integrated into the eighty-four Traction stores network and the three TW Distribution Centres of UAP Heavy Vehicle Parts Division.
UAP Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company, is a Canadian leader in the distribution and merchandising of automotive parts and replacement accessories for cars, trucks and heavy vehicles. UAP has approximately 3,800 employees and a store network covering all of Canada.
