The National Truck Equipment Association has honored eight member companies and requalified 16 companies for their commitment to safety and quality standards.

The association's Member Verification Program recognizes distributors, manufacturers and upfitters for implementing quality business practices and for complying with specific government safety regulations. The association looks closely at how companies handle liability insurance, warranty programs, vehicle and employee certification, safety policies, and quality assurance. The standards for consideration were tightened on July 1, 2009.

"We congratulate these members who have demonstrated compliance to key quality standards and for building better relationships between distributors and manufacturers, and between suppliers and their customers," said Jim Carney, NTEA executive director. "With the recent introduction of updated criteria, we have raised the bar of the MVP program to even higher standards which should impact the quality efforts of our members and industry to an even greater extent."

The newest members for the third quarter of 2009 include:

* ABS Storage Products, Detroit, Mich.
* Badger Truck & Equipment, West Allis, Wis.
* Bay Bridge Manufacturing, Bristol, Ind.
* Casper's Truck Equipment, Appleton, Wis.
