Norfolk Southern Railway and Union Pacific Railroad have teamed up to offer a new expedited intermodal service for refrigerated trailer shippers between Los Angeles and Atlanta.


Under the new system, customers will have the option of having their refrigeration units serviced along the way in El Paso, Texas. According to Norfolk Southern, the new service will deliver shipments at a speed of more than 500 miles per day.

Norfolk Southern Railway, a subsidiary Norfolk Southern Corporation, operates approximately 21,000 route miles in 22 states and the District of Columbia.

Union Pacific Railroad, owned by Union Pacific Corporation, links 23 states in the western two-thirds of the country.
