Landstar System, a non-asset based provider of integrated supply chain solutions, and newly-acquired National Logistics Management, have been honored as Top 100 3PLs by Inbound Logistics
. The award marks the fifth time NLM has been recognized and Landstar's seventh time around. Landstar ranked ninth in the overall list.
"Both NLM and Landstar qualify as Inbound Logistics 2009 Top 100 3PL Providers because they have shown consistent results in transforming customers' logistics and supply networks, businesses, and enterprises," said Felecia Stratton, editor of Inbound Logistics.
The top 100 were chosen out of more than 400 companies, taking into account more than 6,700 survey votes cast by Inbound Logistics readers. The magazine's editors narrowed the results through reviewing reader surveys, conducting interviews with companies and customers, and online research.
"Tactical operational results are fundamental to 3PL value, but so is the strategic vision of experienced logistics providers," said Stratton. "Today's business logistics leaders say they appreciate 3PLs that are proactive, take the lead in offering suggestions, and help transform the enterprise."
