FleetPride has purchased Tallahassee, Fla.-based Fleet Supply
, adding an 11,300-square foot warehouse and machine shop to its Florida network. The acquisition marks its ninth location throughout Florida.

"Previously, FleetPride was serving the southern Georgia and northern Florida markets through our Dothan, Ala., branch," said Pete Painter, vice president and regional manager of the Southeast region. "With the Tallahassee acquisition, we can now more readily provide the best customer service, expanded product inventory, and faster delivery to all of our existing (as well as new) customers in the Florida panhandle and its surrounding markets."

Fleet Supply, previously owned by Van and Dorothy Johnson, has been in business since 1965. Van Johnson, who started his career with Fleet Supply at the age of 16, will stay on as Branch Manager.

"By acquiring a location in Tallahassee, FleetPride expands our coverage in northern Florida and southern Georgia while leveraging the existing infrastructure already in place in this region," said Mike Paxton, Vice President Business Development and Strategic Planning.
