Southeastern Freight Lines has been honored by the National Shippers Strategic Transportation Council in the 2009 Carrier of the Year Awards, marking the eighth time the company has been recognized.

Southeastern Freight earned the award in the Southeast Regional category, while its partners won in other regions, including A. Duie Pyle for the Northeast, Dayton Freight Lines for the Midwest and Oak Harbor Freight Lines for the West.

To be considered for the awards, transportation providers are judged on customer service, operational excellence, pricing, business relationship and leadership and technology.

"The NASSTRAC award has been encouraging the high performance of carriers for years," said Eric Morley, director of logistics for Best Buy Company and the council's president. "NASSTRAC leverages this annual awards program to continually promote performance excellence in various market segments of transportation."

Other partners in the Southeastern network include Midwest Motor Express, Quik X Transportation and Central Arizona Freight.
