Ball stood out from the other seven technicians from International dealerships across North America who competed at the rodeo, which took place Thursday at Universal Technical Institute in Glendale Heights, Ill.

Contestants were judged on their commercial truck servicing skills in air conditioning, brakes, drive train and electrical, as well as MaxxForce engines. The technicians had to move through eight stations throughout the day, diagnosing and fixing problems.

"Robert Ball demonstrated the highest skills and abilities among the top eight Diamond-certified technicians competing in the event," said Vaughn Allen, Navistar vice president of product and customer support.

The Automotive Service Excellence certified or Canadian-provincial certified participants were chosen from a group of 370 technicians at the dealerships. The final group was selected through online testing.
