FTR Associates, a transportation forecaster, has put its 2009 "Freight Transportation" conference on the radar screen for Aug. 25-27, with economic and transportation industry experts slated to speak.


Taking place at the Indianapolis Crowne Plaza Downtown-Union Station Hotel, the conference will feature two days of presentations, where attendees can get short- and long-term insights into the economic state of the industry. Panels will also discuss truck, rail, intermodal, water and air transportation, as well as the status of freight equipment markets for trucks and rail.

Speakers will include Bill Strauss, senior economist of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, John Barnes, managing director of equity research for RBC Capital Markets, Annette Sandburg, president of Transafe and former head of the Federal Highway Safety Administration, and members of the FTR team.
