A truck beauty show, "World of Large Cars: A Tribute to Bette Garber" will be held July 3-5 at the Macoupin County Fairgrounds in Carlinville, Ill.

Gwillim Trucking Inc. is dedicating the World of Large Cars show this year to the memory of Bette Garber, a beloved trucking photojournalist who died unexpectedly last fall. Donations will be accepted in Bette's honor and there will also be an auction and proceeds collected will help support the Bette Garber Memorial Fund which aids charities chosen by the trucking community and charities that rescue abused, neglected and abandoned animals, causes very important to Bette's life.

This will be a get together of friends to wash, and park their trucks and remember Garber, as well as Jake Eilen, a well-known competitor on the truck beauty circuit who also passed away last year. There will be no judging and trophies. The event will feature a barbecue, a light show, a parade, entertainment from Joey Holiday, and a showing of the movie "Smokey and The Bandit," in which Garber has a few seconds of fame.
