The National Trailer Dealers Association is postponing its October convention until 2010 because of the recession.

The event was scheduled for Oct. 8-10 in Palm Springs, Calif. The 2010 convention will be scheduled at the same resort.

"While this was a difficult decision to make, the board feels that it's the best and most prudent course of action at this time," said NTDA President Elvin Spellman. "We strongly believe that postponing the convention until 2010 provides members the opportunity to focus solely on their businesses and gives the NTDA the ability to ensure the 2010 convention will effectively serve our membership."

He said the NTDA recognizes that now, more than ever, member companies need to focus their energy and resources on customers and future planning. Member needs are first and foremost to the NTDA, and the association understands that businesses need to concentrate on saving money and positioning for success when the market begins to improve.
