The American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) has released the inaugural edition of Industry Trends, the first data publication to cover the U.S. moving and storage industry in depth.

Published quarterly, the report provides an overview of current trends and business activity within the sector, and offers data on shipment volume, both aggregate and regional; demand factors; timing; inbound/outbound data; and market-specific trends and outlooks. All data is based on information submitted confidentially to AMSA by its member companies.

"Industry Trends fills a statistical hole for not only our members," said AMSA President & CEO Linda Bauer Darr, "but also for analysts, economists, the news media and researchers who need to better-understand the impact our $16.5 billion sector has on the U.S. economy."

The chairman of AMSA's Data Committee, Steve McKenna (vice president, pricing and contracts for SIRVA Moving Services), calls the publication "a great planning tool for business leaders in this sector. We look forward to providing the metrics and information they need to help make planning decisions."

Industry Trends is available on a subscription basis for $275 for AMSA members and $550 for nonmembers. For more information, please contact Steven McKenna at steven.mckenna@alliedvan.com .
