The credit crisis, Navistar's Jim Hebe, James Carville and Mary Matalin, and The Capitol Steps are among the highlights of the American Truck Dealers' 2009 Convention & Expo in Washington, D.C., April 18-20.

The convention will give dealers the opportunity to attend educational workshops, including the "super" workshop entitled, "The Credit Crisis: Implications and Opportunities for Your Business." Dealers can also meet with manufacturer executives at make-specific meetings and walk the expo floor showcasing the latest products and services.

James Hebe, senior vice president of North American sales operations for Navistar International, will address convention participants at Monday's luncheon. Additional speakers include husband-and-wife political duo James Carville and Mary Matalin, as well as Kyle Treadway, ATD chairman and Kenworth dealer. Final night festivities include entertainment by The Capitol Steps and music by The Fabulous Greaseband.

New for 2009, ATD will present the first annual ATD Commercial Truck of the Year Award in recognition of the best new heavy- and medium-duty trucks by current model year sold in the United States. This year's presentation will showcase the best new heavy-duty truck based on innovation, design, fuel economy, driver and owner satisfaction, ease of maintenance and safety.
