Iteris, Santa Ana, Calif.,, was selected by the states of Maine and Nevada to provide Commercial Vehicle Information Systems and Networks (CVISN) services in projects with a potential total value of up to $2 million over the next four years.

Maine chose Iteris' Commercial Vehicle Information Exchange Window Plus (CVIEW-Plus) system for customization and implementation. The system will be integrated with multiple Maine information systems that govern the administration of commercial motor carrier safety and credentials. Additionally, the system will interface with federal information systems to exchange similar data with other states. This exchange of data helps in the efficiency and effectiveness of motor carrier administration and commercial motor carrier operations by federal and state government agencies. Work on this project is expected to begin in the current quarter.

Nevada has awarded Iteris a multi-year contract to manage the implementation of CVISN technologies for the state. These technologies include commercial motor carrier permitting systems, electronic screening sites, and CVIEW-Plus. Work on this project has already begun.
Additionally, Iteris will be providing information system design services and construction management services for CVISN project implementations.

The CVIEW-Plus system is designed to obtain, store, and distribute intrastate and interstate commercial vehicle information and has been certified by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration as CVISN compliant. This information is made available to local state agencies, other jurisdictions, federal authorities, and other users.
