Heavy Duty Dialogue '09 announced that David Sexton, president, Shell Oil Products US, will speak at the conference about the global energy challenge and how the current economic environment is affecting short-and long-term energy supply and demand.

He will outline the key priorities for national and global policies that balance accessibility, affordability and acceptability of energy, the need for CO2 regulation and technology to move forward hand-in-hand, and the growing potential for low-CO2 fuels that can be applied in the heavy-duty market.

"We have to turn our perspective around and think sustainability as strategy," Sexton says. "Our challenge is how to create more energy with less carbon dioxide in an economically viable way."

The conference program for HDD '09 also includes a legislative and regulatory discussion, a CEO panel on mega trends and strategy, an industry forecast defining the near and long term future for the industry, and a discussion around the "developing storm" of a generationally diverse workforce.
