Heavy Duty Dialogue '09 will include a panel discussion of the priorities of the new administration and 111th Congress and the impact the changes will have on the commercial vehicle industry.


Heavy Duty Dialogue '09 is a business conference for executives in the commercial vehicle supplier industry. It will be held at the Rosen Centre Hotel and at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009.

The panel discussion will include presentations from Timothy Lynch, vice president, American Trucking Associations, and Ann Wilson, senior vice president of government affairs for the Motor Equipment Manufacturers Association. The panel will discuss topics such as the re-authorization of the highway bill, "card-check" union legislation, emissions and fuel economy regulations, and highway congestion.

"The planned regulatory and legislative agenda of the new administration and 111th Congress will directly affect our members and HD Dialogue attendees businesses," said Timothy Kraus, president and COO of the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association. "This timely and targeted panel will frankly discuss the business impact expected to the commercial vehicle and related industries."

Also included in HDD '09 is a U.S. and global economic discussion, an industry forecast defining the near and long term future for the heavy-duty industry, the U.S. energy policy, economic and environmental sustainability, and a discussion around the "developing storm" of a generationally diverse workforce.
