Old Dominion Freight Line, Thomasville, N.C., kicked off its 75th anniversary celebration at this year's National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) Annual Meeting and TransComp Exhibition in Fort Lauderdale Nov. 14-19.

Old Dominion is launching its new "Promises" marketing campaign and its 75th Anniversary Tour, a 27-city road tour featuring a customized truck with interactive displays outlining the company's history.

Old Dominion will be on the road for its 75th anniversary to present a nationwide road tour of its past, present and future. The tour, which began at Old Dominion's Miami Service Center November 16, includes a customized rolling museum with a complete breakdown of Old Dominion's history through the years. The 75th Anniversary Tour Rig is a 38-ton, hydraulic-enabled, one-of-a-kind 2009 Freightliner Cascadia with a DD-15 engine.

Old Dominion's new Promises campaign emphasizes the company's commitment to its customers. The new tagline, "Helping the world keep promises," was validated by an internal survey where thousands of employees agreed that Old Dominion delivers excellent, dependable service and keeps its promises to customers, as well as independent research obtained through an industry study where customers also agreed that Old Dominion delivers on its commitments.
