Dupré Logistics recently hosted its Annual Client Colloquium with a presentation by futurist Erik Peterson, who focused on forecasting key trends out to the year 2025.

The Class of 2025 initiative explores the world we are creating for the children being born this year, who will graduate from high school in the year 2025. The tactics and strategies described focused on the logistics industry but apply to many business sectors as technology, energy and economy change in our world. Dupré Logistics used Peterson's expertise to share its "Always Forward Thinking" philosophy with event attendees.

The presentation highlighted six dimensions of the world that the Class of 2025 will have to grapple with in the years ahead, including the growing U.S. population, lagging education system, and the ever-changing global economy. Peterson explained that facing down these challenges will require fundamental shifts in our thinking, significant reforms in our institutions, and an escape from the confines of "short-termism."

Peterson is a senior vice president at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a nonpartisan and nonprofit Washington DC-based think tank established in 1962.
