The Mid-West Truckers Association will hold forums on "Claim Management and Asset Protection for Trucking Companies" in May and June.

The first event is scheduled for May 15 in Willowbrook, Ill. The second will be held June 5 in Collinsville, Ill.

The forums will help for-hire motor carrier owners and managers find margin in aggressive and real claims investigation/management and distance assets from the severe accident. The goal of the forum is to help trucking companies lower claim costs while being proactive and assertive with insurance companies.

Topics will include:

• Minor accidents can cost you big.
• Methods to diminish ultimate payouts in a minor accident.
• Ideal practices for managing minor claims.
• Ensuring the minor accident results in minor payout.
• Cost-effective methods to challenge plaintiff attorneys.
• Investigating and managing severe accidents
• What can I expect (and demand) from my insurance company?
• Making sure a jury will not perceive you as an "irresponsible" motor carrier.

Times for both forums will be from 8 a.m. -2 p.m. The cost is $75 per person (lunch included).
