Greatwide Logistics Services' Dedicated Transport business unit has been named Wal-Mart's Outbound Grocery Carrier of the Year for 2007.
Greatwide was the first dedicated contract carrier to serve Wal-Mart with refrigerated transportation services when it entered the grocery business in 1993.

Award selection criteria included service level, service flexibility, pro-active communication, and innovative transportation solutions. At 99.89 percent, Greatwide's service level for 2007 represents achievement of Six Sigma performance. Greatwide's Dedicated Transport business unit operates a fleet of more than 4,000 trucks, largely provided by independent owner-operators.

"The credit for this award really goes to our owner-operators and management team, whose dedication to excellence in their own business enables us to offer this quality of service and flexibility to our customers," said Greg Bryan, vice president of operations responsible for the Wal-Mart relationship.

"We work very hard to customize our operations to meet the needs of our customers, and it's an honor of the highest degree to be recognized by a supply chain innovator like Wal-Mart," said Ray Greer, CEO of Greatwide Logistics.
