The American Trucking Associations' Safety & Loss Prevention Management Council says nominations are now being accepted for the council's 2008 Excellence in Claims & Loss Prevention Award and 2008 Claims/Loss Prevention Professional
of the Year Award.
The 2008 Excellence Award, sponsored by Recovery Management Corp., honors a truckload carrier and less-than-truckload carrier that have set the standard for exceptional freight claims management and loss prevention.
Nominees are judged on the extent and effectiveness of their claims/loss prevention programs. Roehl Transport won the 2007 Excellence in Claims & Loss Prevention Truckload Division and Mountain Valley Express won the 2007 Excellence in Claims & Loss Prevention LTL Division.
The 2008 Claims/Loss Prevention Professional award is a coveted award honoring the professional who has demonstrated outstanding management and success in keeping claims and loss under control. Their company nominates candidates. The most recent winner of the Claims & Loss Prevention Professional of the Year award was Lois Beggs, manager of claims prevention for Pitt Ohio Express.
Both awards will be presented at the 2008 Freight Claims & Loss Prevention Annual Conference in Long Beach, Calif., April 29 - May 1. Award recipients are also recognized at the 2008 ATA Management Conference & Exhibition and through a press release. The deadline for entry is April 1, 2008. The competition is open to all ATA and ATA Safety & Loss Prevention Management Council member companies.
