Schneider National Inc. has been honored for its advanced IT solutions by being included on the IDG InfoWorld 100 list for 2007. The annual awards pay tribute to IT projects that demonstrate the most creative use of cutting-edge technologies
to further business goals.
This is the first time Schneider has been named to the InfoWorld list.
Schneider made the InfoWorld 100 list for its development of a new program designed to reduce the complexity of dray dispatching (dispatching trucks and drivers to short-haul freight to warehouses or rail yards). Named the Dispatch Execution Planning & Optimization Tool (DEPOT), the Java-based application provides the trucking company's dispatchers with extensive information regarding loads, drivers and available empty boxes, while recommending the most efficient and effective customer solutions for intermodal freight moves.
"Maintaining high levels of customer service is critical in our industry," said Bob Grawien, vice president of enterprise architecture at Schneider National. "We're delighted to be included on this prestigious list, because it demonstrates Schneider understands our customers' needs and, through the use of cutting-edge technology, can provide the type of service they need to be successful."
