Decker Truck Line Inc. has named Brian Samuelson as October's Driver of the Month from Decker's Flatbed division, and Lyle Grate received the award for the Reefer/Van division.
Samuelson, who lives with is family in Davenport,
Iowa, has been with Decker for a year and a half.
Grate is from Dallas, N.C., and also has been a Decker driver for a year and a half.
Each month at Decker, dispatchers nominate drivers and owner-operators based on overall service and performance for that month. Operational productivity, safety records, maintenance/care of equipment (including idle time), payroll and billing, and customer service, are evaluated for each driver nominee to determine who is most deserving of the honor.
Each monthly award winner in 2007 is eligible to receive the award for 2007 Driver (or Owner-Operator) of the Year.
